Black and white headshots for MAM Solutions who required profile photos for their new website and LinkedIn. I shot these in colour as I find you get better results when converting in photoshop to black and white. The benefits or photographing directors and staff in black and white is that you get a more uniform look to your headshots.

Recent commission for US company WilmingtonTrust.com at their London offices in The City. They required straight forward headshots similar to the ones they have on their US website. I sometimes find that a client will ask me to match the portraits they have had done before or similar to what the head office has produced. These can be hard to match exactly and can result in hours of photoshop work. Mostly though when clients sees what I have captured for them they tend to go with the originals.

Commission for Solum Financial Partners who are based in Austin Friars. Over the last couple of years we have photographed new members of staff to be added to their ‘Meet the Team‘ page, which uses the images and text in a refreshing layout.

Another commission for Babcock International Group at their South London offices. These were informal and relaxed headshots for their BBC Service Desk marketing and online profiles. I used a mixture of daylight and studio lighting as the large window in the office was north facing and gave a great soft backlight.

Commission for Babcock International Group at their offices in The Blue Fin building in South London. These are a few images of the BBC Media Management Centre, which was tricky to photograph as I had to balance daylight with the screens and keep an eye out for reflections.

Commission to photograph Antony Wood from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat for a feature in a Kone publication on the development of high rise offices in The City of London. It was a very flat and misty London morning and when we first started I was not sure we could even see the top of some of the buildings. Had to balance the images and improve the contrast so that they had some depth in the background buildings.

Commission for Bidvest Logistics who asked me to capture portraits at their recent board meeting. Photographing people in this environment can be a little tricky as you have to remain in the background and let the board meeting continue and at the same time move around and get the images required. On the plus side you get very natural expressions as the people are aware you are photographing in the room but they are also focused on the subjects under discussion.

Commission for RFC Ambrian who required formal headshots for their London office. These were taken in their boardroom and I mainly used daylight from a north facing window as I wanted to make them look natural and not look like they were taken in a studio.

Commission for Lovetts plc who are based in Guildford. They wanted some contemporary corporate photography in their offices for online marketing and PR purposes. The trick to this type of corporate photography is to make the photographs look natural and unposed. This takes time as the staff in the office are fully aware that there is a photographer wandering around with a big camera.

Corporate portrait photography for Richard Pearson from Cypher Investments Ltd. Richard required a portrait that made him look approachable and professional for a new website launch. The portrait needed to also show in a subtle way that he works in The City. I photographed him in a small courtyard that backs onto Queen Victoria Street, this allowed me to get elements of contemporary London offices behind him and some traditional London stone for him to lean against.
