Looking over Waterloo – Corporate photographer London

Union jack flag and statue outside Waterloo station

Statue outside main entrance to Waterloo Station

Had a commission to take a group photograph outside the Financial Times building. I arrived on time and worked out the best location to take the group photograph, but when I spoke to my client he informed me that the meeting had finished early and that group who were to be photographed had gone onto another location. The client kindly said he would pay for my time, and that I could get an early lunch. As a bonus I managed to shot the statue above the main entrance to Waterloo Station. I have noticed this statue before but the Union Jack was never blowing in the right direction.

Corporate portraits in Surrey business offices. Photographer Grantly Lynch

This corporate client suggested that their offices were not suitable for corporate portraits as they were not very photogenic. This is quite a common response when I suggest client’s offices would be the best option to get a contemporary corporate portrait taken. I have never found an office that was not suitable for corporate portraits. As a corporate portrait photographer I have to be very selective in what is in the portrait and how the subject is positioned. Using a short depth of field helps as this blurs the background. I also use the colours to balance the photograph. In this corporate portrait I thought his tie complimented the chair.

Recent PR photograph for Simon White of Altitude Partners LLP who required a press release photograph with the theme of Altitude. We had discussed where best to shot this in the Portsmouth and Southampton area and Simon suggested the Spitfire statue situated near their offices in Eastleigh. This style of PR photography is quite tricky as it involves balancing daylight and flash, but the effects can be quite striking.

Corporate portraits

Corporate portraits - Portrait photographer corporate London

Recent corporate portrait taken as a series of corporate portraits for a London client. These informal style corporate portraits were taken in a meeting and the business woman had asked me to photograph her corporate portraits as the meeting was in progress. I reckon she had forgotten I was in the room after 5 mins and allowed me to capture some natural corporate portraits.
